A variety of musical enrichment programs are available from the popular performing arts group, Midwest School Shows. These shows provide students with exposure to live musical performances, while also highlighting school topics such as reading, the environment, and world cultures.

One of the featured Midwest School Shows' musicians is Guy Louis. From Michigan, Guy Louis, has earned a reputation for providing musical assemblies that receive 5-star reviews from teachers, principals...and students!  His concerts are lively, interesting, and full of opportunities for kids to "join the band" and become part of the show. Featured musical assembly topics:

  • World Music Tour: This musical assembly program by Guy Louis exposes students to music and musical instruments from around the world. The format of the show also highlights how music is important to different cultures.The concert is "hands on" and encouraged student involvement. The countries and cultural information can be customized to fit your school's specific studies.  Michigan schools can apply for a grant to bring this cultural music assembly to their school. This Michigan Humanities grant will pay up to 30% of the total performance fee. Ask us for details.
  • Rockin' and Reading: A rock and roll reading show that encourages students to read and helps highlight how reading is important to everything we do.
  • Family Fun Concert:  Looking for a fun way to let your student's "Rock Out" at a family night or other school event? Guy Louis' family fun concert from Midwest School Shows is a rockin' and rollin' good time, featuring upbeat, kid-friendly music that both kids and parents will be dancing along to. This show has sold out theaters and performing arts venues across the United States. (including multiple return visits to Meadowbrook Theatre in Rochester Hills, Michigan).
  • Harpbeat of America: The musical sounds of Harpbeat takes audiences on a journey across America's past and present, as told through popular songs. Opportunities for the audience to sing along and play instruments make this a celebreation about America that even the toughest upper elementary critics will enjoy.  (Note: This assembly is only available in the metro Detroit area this school year, due to limited availability of the Harpbeat group)


When you book a musical program from Midwest School Shows, there is nothing to worry about. The musical act will bring everything they need for the performance. The sound system, instruments, and props are all provided.
