About:

Based in Atlanta, GA, meteorologist Nick Walker is well-known to millions throughout the nation for his storm coverage on The Weather Channel. But he is also known to thousands of students, teachers and parents as "The Weather Dude," bringing his educational program of music and video to schools, science festivals, libraries and community events. Nick performs his catchy weather songs to teach the basics of weather, and to stress the importance of severe weather preparedness.

Displaying eye-popping video to accompany his toe-tapping songs, Walker focuses on the basics of weather such as clouds, precipitation and wind, but also educates about tornadoes, hurricanes and floods, encouraging preparedness and safety. From light rock to blues, from salsa to surf, Nick uses music and audience participation to introduce not only science and math concepts, but also language arts and critical thinking skills. Videos of his presentations are available on the "Weather Dude" web site.
