About:

Circus Smirkus gives kids a chance to run away and and join the circus – with their parents' blessings. A Smirkus Residency is an extended visit to your school by a circus professional who shares circus skills with students each day for one day, one week or two weeks, in school or after school.

It's an unforgettable experience, filled with educational value. Our residencies are designed to enhance learning skills by introducing your students to a wide range of circus arts. Along the way students gain confidence, focus, and persistence. Circus is a unique and inspiring way to teach children, and to promote community involvement at your school or organization.

Our program also includes a curriculum guide, jam-packed with circus related lesson plans for art, music, science, history, math, and language skills. The best part - every Smirkus residency ends with an exciting all-school circus performance! And we take care of everything - props, staging, music - the works.

Why a Circus Residency?

Circus is a non-competitive physical art form that extends easily to any part of the school curriculum. Circus training requires the same dedication, discipline, and hard work of any sport, but it stresses collaboration rather than competition. We can customize your residency to fit your school's needs. Choose from the following options:

  • One week Residency  - Teaches all of your students, during in-school hours, for one week.
  • Two week Residency - Teaches all of your students, during in-school hours, for two weeks.
  • One-day Residency - An assembly, 5 classes, and a group share - all in one day. After-School Program  - Teaches 25 students, during after-school hours.
